Blaizze never gets tired of coming to this park. There's so much for kids to play with, a very nice area just to walk, run or jog . . . they even have a water fountain that is at a convenient level for adults, children & pets!!!
Clean, Playground for younger and older children. Water play area, tennis, horse shoes, pavilion. Just a beautiful area! A must visit. Also walking trail, ice rink etc... Thank you.
Good mobile reception (homes across the street), and the best part is the local restaurants in the downtown area that is only 5 minutes away: head to Super Burrito for $5.50 Burritos ($1 more for steak) that are excellent and so big you might consider splitting one. Chile Rellenos and Tamales are also good there. Other restaurants included sit-down American fare, and the usual fast food McDonald's.
We attended an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament was held at Legacy Park this weekend, using six of the fields. The park was easy to find, only 5 mins from the Interstate exit and visible when driving South on I-57 from Chicago. Parking was a surprising close walk to fields either from the two lots (North & South ends of the park) or the street parking that runs along East side of the park, connecting the parking lots.
We can't wait to see what winter events take place here!
We'll cared for park, but out of town and NO windbreak, so tennis on the 2 courts is usually difficult, and there are no lights for evening play. Pretty nice outdoor hockey rink. Rare to find a city rink with actual hockey "boards".
This is my absolute favorite place to go for a run. It's clean and very family friendly. Nearly every time I go, lots families there with their children. It's got a very safe, community sort of feel.
The fields are graded well for drainage, all but 1 were in great shape after the many inches of rain the last 1-2 weeks,
